Yes, on every major platform. What changes is labelling, a few sensitive categories, and the same truth-in-advertising rules as any ad. A practical guide for UAE brands.
Short answer: yes. Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Snapchat, Google Ads and YouTube all accept ads made with generative AI. What changes is labelling: platforms may add an AI label automatically or ask you to disclose realistic AI content, and political or social-issue ads have stricter rules. Beyond that, AI ads follow the same rules as any ad: no misleading claims, no fake endorsements, and respect for local advertising standards.
This guide summarises how we keep AI ads compliant for UAE brands. Platform policies change often, so always check the current policy before launch. This is practical guidance, not legal advice.
AI-generated creative is allowed. Meta may show an “AI info” label when it detects industry-standard signals that content was made or edited with AI. Ads about social issues, elections or politics that contain realistic, digitally created or altered people or events must be disclosed by the advertiser. For normal commercial ads, the usual policies apply: no misleading claims and no impersonating real people.
TikTok allows AI-generated content and asks for realistic AI content to be labelled. It can also apply labels automatically when content carries AI metadata (Content Credentials). Content that could mislead viewers about real events or real people, or that uses someone’s likeness without consent, is not allowed.
Google Ads accepts AI-generated creative under its standard policies, especially the rules against misrepresentation. Election ads with synthetic content that realistically depicts people or events require a clear disclosure. On YouTube, creators must disclose realistic altered or synthetic content in videos they upload. If you post the full ad organically on your channel, label it accordingly.
Snapchat accepts AI-assisted creative under its standard advertising policies. As everywhere, deceptive content and unauthorised use of real people’s likeness are not allowed.
Ads in the UAE must follow national advertising content standards: they must be truthful, not mislead consumers, and respect the country’s cultural and religious values. AI doesn’t change those duties. If anything, it makes them more important, because AI can create things that look real.
In our experience, the label matters far less than the creative. People scroll past ads that look cheap or fake, labelled or not. They stop for ads with a clear idea, real craft and a strong hook. That’s why we direct AI ads the way we direct live-action commercials.
Yes. Both platforms accept AI-generated ads. They may label realistic AI content, and political or social-issue ads have extra disclosure rules.
It depends on the platform and ad category. Political, election and social-issue ads with realistic synthetic content must be disclosed, and some platforms label AI content automatically. For standard commercial ads, follow each platform’s current policy and never present AI-generated people or results as real.
Not without their written permission. Using a real person’s likeness without consent breaks platform policies and can create legal risk.
